After four children, I finally captured "the tantrum". Luke is a
typical up and down two year old. He is obsessed with the word "mine". I guess he has the need to feel ownership to something,
after all most of the toys in this house were here before him and he cannot rightly claim them as his. He has learned to take a stand in this house, however it is not always the right time or right way, hence the typical two year old. The difference between our first child's tantrums and the fourth child's tantrum is all how I handle it. I can remember I would get so stressed out when Cari would throw tantrums. It seemed like such a big deal at the moment. Well four kids later...I have realized they are not that big of a deal. I don't stress about them, but I don't give into them either. I know that this is a phase that will pass. Luke is already learning he doesn't get any where by throwing these fits of insanity. Here is a piece of Luke's roller coaster ride.
5 minutes prior to the tantrum, happy as can be!
Here it comes...the scream! "No mama!"
It's sooooo.... terrible! Life is hard
And the moment he realizes he is notgoing to win. And....it over, just like that!

There are plenty of times I wish I could scream and throw a fit, just one problem... my fit wouldn't be this cute!
There's a great Berenstein Bears book where Mamma Bear throws a tantrum! I think it's the Berenstein Bears Go to the Mall.
ReplyDeleteGianni is starting these as well...sigh...but his verge on violent; he has a tendency to pick up whatever is near and chuck it at someone's head!
