60 Years Later...

As you know, this past weekend I flew down to NM to be with my family as we all celebrated my grandparents (aka: Papa and Nana) 60th wedding anniversary. I have been contemplating what to post first about this amazing weekend for the past few days. Well my conclusion: just pictures of Papa and Nana. I will post more pictures later, but I wanted this post just to be about them.

I can't even begin to explain the emotions I experienced this weekend. To have the privilege of being in the presence of my grandparents as they crossed this bridge in their marriage is very hard to put in words. Being kid-less this weekend left me an opportunity to "take it all in" without interruptions from the daily blessings of motherhood. As I watched Papa and Nana, I knew they were happy to be with one another 60 years later. This being said, I also know that they have faced many heartaches that could have broken them as people and broken their marriage. However, rather than letting those moments define them and break them, they took from them and kept placing one foot in front of another. They kept going. Years later, Papa and Nana are thanking their family and friends for making their life wonderful. I know I can speak for my family, it is they who have made our life wonderful. They have been the rock of our family. They are there no matter what life has dealt. Papa and Nana, you have been a blessing to all of us. You have taught us how to love, how to forgive and how to keep going. Thank you for walking in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ. We love you!!
