This past week, winter paid us a visit. We weren't hit as hard as other parts of the country, but we received enough snow to remind us that winter is not over yet. One afternoon, as I was checking the mail, I noticed how beautifully the sun shone through the icicles hanging from our front porch. I decided to grab my camera and play around with some different settings. The kids couldn't quite figure out what in the world I was doing coming in and out of the house every few seconds. I guess it was my spontaneous effort to capture God's beautiful elements He so carefully crafted for our pleasure.

Cari found a book of poetry this evening. I was looking through it and found this one.
Picture Books In Winter
Summer fading, winter comes-
Frosty mornings, tingling thumbs,
Window robins, winter rooks,
And the picture storybooks.
Water now is turned to stone
Nurse and I can walk upon;
Still we find the flowing brooks
In the picture storybooks.
All the pretty things put by,
Wait upon the children's eye,
Sheep and shepherds, tree and crooks
In the picture storybooks.
We may see how all things are,
Seas and cities, near and far,
And the flying fairies' looks,
In the picture storybooks.
How am I to sing your praise,
Happy chimney-corner days,
Sitting safe in nursery nooks,
Reading picture storybooks?
Robert Louis Stevenson
Great pictures! I love the effects you added to the last one and the poem goes with it perfectly :)... I guess I need to just enjoy the beauty of winter while it is here instead of just complain about the cold!
