Winter...is it over yet?

This certainly feels like the never-ending winter. The kids have had so many snow days that they dread them now, rather than welcoming them. They realized that their summer vacation was slowing, but surely being eaten away by layers of snow and ice. The original let out date: May 25th. Thanks to old Jack Frost, they are now in school until June 7th, that is if there are no more cancellations. As you will see, we have had some fun, however we are very ready to bid winter farewell. In fact my kids no longer desire to go out and play in the white stuff and I even heard Luke say, "Not more snow...I'm done with snow!" Optimistice for spring the kids and I spent (on a snow day of course) 30 minutes in the store planning out our garden for the spring and summer. We all picked several packets of seeds, anticipating just how beautiful they would be...yes we are hopeful! Here are a few last winter pictures.

During the blizzard
Rob has used his snow blower a lot!!
Just keeps getting deeper
All smiles here
Very typical: Nathaniel with his eyes shut, Luke and
his goofy grin, Noah with his "safety" goggles for the
snow of course!! I love my boys!!
Max, of course, joined the fun
Mom, look how deep it is!!
Thankful for warm hats and coats!!
Oh my...his eyes are open!!
And when we are done outside Legos make for some fun!
And the Wii...don't you love the Wii face?
These two cuddle buds
are savoring any sunshine that peeks through those
dreary, gray winter clouds.
Come on spring...we are waiting for you!

  1. We hear you! You'd think us Cheyenne-ians would be tougher, but we are so ready to see a little grass!

Picking out seed packets is a good idea. I can plan ahead for what I'm going to kill this year...

  3. Actually those are Rob's theological books. We have three bookshelves full (mostly his) in our living room. And that's after he got rid of several boxes.
