Luke is 5. The 5th birthday feels like a milestone. I'm sure it's because five makes him officially old enough to go to kindergarten. It's me who can't believe it. Luke of course is ready to take on 5 with no hesitation. We found this awesome retro-style bike at Sam's this Christmas and have been saving it for Luke' special day. He had quite a day...that's for sure!
Shiny and new!
Hitched a ride from big brother. This is before he sees the bike.
And...he just caught a glimpse.
One happy 5 year old, at 6:30 in the morning.
He was excited to try it out, so we walk the older kids to the bus stop.
Even the big kids were excited for Luke.
Now comes a special call from his cousins in Albuquerque. He opened his gift from them while talking to them on the phone. He LOVES his Power Ranger suit. Thank you Uncle Mike, Auntie Sarah, Josh, Kyle, Jacob and Carter. You just provided hours of entertainment!
Cake time!! Most of you know, but I accidentally bought a #4 candle (call it a subconscious slip). Well I fixed my mistake and decided that my baby really did have to turn 5, despite my efforts.
Planning how he will huff and puff.
First try!
"I'm gonna get them!!"
Time for a quick pose.
Time for cards, which are just as much fun. They have money in them! He has his eye on some
Transformers. Birthday money will be just the thing to turn that wish into reality!
One more gift, which turns out to be Power Ranger Mega Bloks (like little Legos).
Can you tell he's excited?
Big sister did something special this year. She decided to take
Luke to Build-A-Bear Workshop to build his very own bear. And
now she can also guide him around on their website, which is
a favorite for her. What a sweet sister. Luke sure loves his new bear!
Birthday boy!!!
What an awesome birthday!!
We love you Luke! You bring such happiness to our family. Your silly, cuddly, charming and growing so fast! Happy Birthday!!
Ahh, he looks so grown up! I love his excitement and all of his expressions :)! Happy Birthday Lukey.
