We just came home from the park on a beautiful September day. We met up with some other homeschooling families from our church. The kids had a lot of fun climbing trees (and jumping out of them), finding bugs, collecting leaves and just being kids! All of the moms took some time to plan field trips for the rest of the fall. Cari has begged us to go back to Miller farms. She loved the field trip last year and over the summer has discovered a new love - gardening.
Well I am finally back to finishing, after being interrupted and then having to cook dinner and take Noah to soccer. I now have the kids in bed - peace and quiet! I still haven't put the latest pictures up and it will take awhile. Trying to motivate myself to go to the store and stand in front of the picture kiosk with four kids is equivalent to wanting to get my teeth pulled out without sedation. Shopping is one of my least favorite activities right now. Having four kids to keep in line is quite a challenge. I know they are not the worst behaved kids, but we still get a lot of looks and frustrated people taking deep sighs at us. I hope I can always remember this stage and have patience with other mothers in public. Enough of my rambling!
We are in the fifth week of school and we have had our ups and downs. Overall, I have really enjoyed teaching my children and watching them grow (sometimes with a little pulling). I think I can speak for all of us - reading aloud is one of our most favorite activities. We can allow the words on paper to expand our imaginations beyond what t.v. can ever provide.
I hope you (all of you) can enjoy some beautiful fall days. We noticed today that our leaves are starting to turn. It feels too early, but the trees don't feel the same. Well this is it for now!
