This morning Rob brought Nathaniel to me, face profusely bleeding and Nathaniel hysterically crying. " What happened?", I asked.
Well somewhere between the sobs, I was told that it was "all Noah's fault!!"
"Did Noah push you?" thinking this would be a logical question followed by a logical answer, yes.
"No. I fell...(sniff, sniff) because I was running too fast. Noah made me do it!"
I am puzzled and ask, "How did Noah make you fall?"
"He told me to race to the ball. The first one there..."
And so the story unfolds while we were getting dressed to leave for the hospital. I realize in Nathaniel's mind, it truly is Noah's fault. Well I suppose I will deal with that later.
We get to the hospital and were taken back right away, no crowds, thank goodness! Nathaniel kicks in his built in charm and with his amazingly cute smile tries to explain what happened. From this moment on, he decides this hospital thing isn't so bad after all. The first thing the nurse does when we get to the room was to turn on the cartoons. After that he didn't notice anything else that happened. You see, we do not have cable, therefore do not have these 'cool' cartoons that he is so enthralled with. The nurses and doctor probably thought he was just another TV addicted kid. Not the case...he is a TV deprived kid whose dream had just come true. Through out the process it was decided by the nurses that Nathaniel should be on the cover of a magazine with that ever so charming smile and twinkle in his eye.
When it was all said and done, three cartoons later, we came home with some super-glue on his eyelid and smile on his face. I'm thinking I should stock up on this super-skin-glue, however I refrained asking the doctor where I could get my hands on this miracle stuff. He may not like the do-it myself attitude when it comes to mending my children's' skin. It will be interesting to see how much hospital super-glue will cost.
wow, sounds like we had a similiar month!!!! Here's to hoping our Aprils are less bloody... :) Melyssa
