Some sewing fun

I love to sew, but rarely find the time to do so. I am usually more concerned with cleaning, cooking and laundry, however that is never done either. Every so often I set aside my mounds of laundry, sink of dishes, and grubby floors and break out the sewing machine. I pay a price. When I'm done I have triple the amount of housework from the result of spending hours bonding with my machine. I have come to love short projects, that I can actually finish. My obsession: purses or bags. I am too cheap to buy the fashionable ones, so I make my own. Of course they aren't based on fashion...who would I be kidding to claim to know anything about fashion?? I'm just a stay-at-home, minivan driving, clearance-rack dressed mom! However, I can have fun!! I completed two purses and now have piles of fabric with ideas swirling in my head for upcoming projects. So stay tuned...just maybe I will get some more done.

This is just a simple, basic purse. Not too big, but not too small.

This little thing is called a Japanese knot. It is tiny, but great for a quick run into the store or library. It is small enough to be kept in a larger purse or diaper bag. It is also reversible.

To close, just slip the large handle through the small one.

  3. Thanks! Hopefully more to come, but for now my machine is in the repair shop. Just as I was gathering momentum, I was put to a stop! Guess it's time to catch up on laundry!!
